
Sometimes when I look at a cherry tree, with its crazy abundance, I imagine God creating beauty in a ridiculously well-supplied workshop, humming “Love Divine“ absentmindedly while working. “Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heav’n to earth come down…. dee, dee, dee-da-dee….”
The creation credo posted on the workshop wall could only have been: More is Better. More colors, more shapes, more textures, more sizes, more fun combos — there’s a fish that looks like a striped box, mammals with pockets, birds that are blue, lizards and octopi that change colors, reptiles that hop…
Can you imagine God’s delight in creating? Oooooh, they are going to love this! I can’t wait to see their reaction. Ooooh wait, how ‘bout a shark with a head shaped like a hammer, that will be fun ….
That’s what I think about when gazing upon the neighborhood cherry trees.
