Drizzle & Stormie: The Emotion of Rain

Have you ever been so sad that you couldn’t stop crying?

Drizzle, the rain goddess of the Pacific Northwest, knows how you feel. She too is so, so sad. She sits in her gray sweats, wrapped in a gray comforter in her charcoal gray mountain house and weeps.

The tears are gentle, yet exhausting to those who witness them. Because the TEARS NEVER STOP! Okay, they do, but Drizzle’s neighbors can’t be blamed when they roll their eyes and say, “Goodness girl, we are all for emotional honesty, but get a grip. It’s been sixteen consecutive days of crying. You’re making us depressed.”

Drizzle’s fraternal, red headed twin is nothing like her. Stormie doesn’t leak emotion. She explodes with it! She carries her rage around until she bursts. You can see it building. Heck you can feel the coming outburst in your joints. Here comes the grumpy rumble, louder and louder. Loud enough to make the pets hide and people run for shelter. Good, Stormie thinks. ‘Bout time you took me seriously!

She takes out her rage in a spectacular temper tantrum with street-flooding, skin-soaking rain. She throws lightening bolts and stomps around, yelling. Her rage can last minutes or hours, or days. Finally, she’s done and her naturally sunny disposition shines through.

She’s fine now, but her neighbors usually need to pick up their yards after her outbursts.
